MassageBannerSore, tired and over worked muscles can cause many problems with the body that result in physical and mental limitations over time. Having regular Massage can boost the immune system and helps with a range of conditions from premenstrual syndrome to high blood pressure. It also can eliminate or soothe pain from arthritis or other disorders involving chronic pain.

When muscles are overexerted, toxins begin to build up in the fascia surrounding the muscle. The primary one is lactic acid (which causes the burning pain after strenuous exercise), which is normally, over time, filtered out of the muscles and out of the body through the lymphatic system. A lot of the time though, the muscles are too tight and the lactic acid is not released, which triggers a domino affect, causing other things to build up, like cellular debris, other cellular wastes, viruses and bacteria.

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy
Manual lymph drainage massage is a form of very light manipulation that encourages lymph flow in the body. It is particularly good for detoxification, edema, pre- and post-surgery and oncology. It can also help with cellulite treatments, scar tissue, spider veins, redness and acne. The lymph system is a slow-moving system of vessels and lymph nodes that is supplementary to the body’s system of blood circulation. The lymph system both delivers nutrients to the cells and carries away excess water, cellular waste, bacteria, viruses and toxins.

Massage Techniques

  • REIKI – is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

  • MYOFASCIAL MASSAGE – is a form of soft tissue therapy used to treat somatic dysfunction and accompanying pain and restriction of motion. This is accomplished by relaxing contracted muscles, increasing circulation, increasing venous and lymphatic drainage, and stimulating the stretch reflex of muscles and overlying fascia.

  • SWEDISH MASSAGE – uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and create other health benefits by facilitating smooth, gliding strokes called effleurage along with other classic massage moves include kneading, friction, stretching and tapotement.

  • LOMI LOMI MASSAGE – is a traditional Hawaiian massage technique used to bring about physical as well as mental relaxation. Lomi Lomi massage seeks to rid the body of physical and mental stresses, and free up the energy flow. This is done with a combination of breathing techniques and intuitive massage strokes using fingertips, thumbs, knuckles, palms, sides of palms, forearms, elbows, knees and, sometimes, stones. The massaging may be gentle or vigorous, and the rhythmic strokes kept continuous and flowing.

  • DEEP TISSUE – is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense and focused to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as “adhesions”). Deep Tissue shouldn’t hurt, but it’s likely to be a bit more uncomfortable than a classic Swedish massage. You should always feel free to speak up if the pressure is too much for you.

  • LYMPHATIC MASSAGE – The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in your body’s ability heal from injury and ward off disease. It is essential to the body’s drainage system for cleansing and filtering out toxins and bacteria. Lymphatic massage is a technique used to help increase lymph flow to remove harmful substances from the tissues and increases immune function. Lymphatic massage can be useful in cases of edema, sports injury or for people experiencing a sluggish immune system or those suffering from a lack of energy.
